Check out this fantastic new model
from NZG!
The Wirtgen WR 240 Cold Recycler, item number
871,
is excellently cast in
1/50 scale. |
|
|
It features diecast construction
with very few plastic parts.
One of the first things I noticed
about it was the large wheels. They are made of a bouncy, rubber-like
plastic with realistic tread and nice hubs. It even has four
wheel steering! |
This entire model is so well made.
The outside walkways and platforms have nice no slip tread and
well scaled handrails and steps. The grills and covers feature mesh
looking casting.
The cab moves left and right just
like the real machine would. It is sturdy enough and well
balanced, so you can easily pose it fully extended. The interior
of the cab is incredibly detailed, just see for yourself!

The operators seat and control
panels are are very authentic. I am a little jealous of that coushy
looking seat! Speaking of the
seat, there is a knob under the cab that allows you to spin the
seat a full 360 degrees! No sore neck for the driver of this
nifty vehicle. |
On top, the engine cover opens to
reveal the excellent engine and engine compartment. As you can
see, the engine has multiple colors just like a real engine
would.
Now for the main attraction! |
|
|
When you turn the model over, you
find the milling head. It is made with individual picks with red
tips. The milling head spins smoothly and easily, and the
discharge flaps on either side can be adjusted to meet your
spewing needs.
But how will you chew up pavement
if the head is safely tucked away? Never fear, the head can be
easily raised and lowered as needed! |
|
|
Here you can see the hydraulics for
the milling head, as well as the rubber-like hydraulic hoses going to
the wheel supports and the warning light on the back.
NZG didn't miss a thing, this
model looks incredible, and was so much fun to look at. |
